Sturdy Finish to Year for Hawk
Race of the Year - Mallory Park
16th October 2006
Hawk Kawasaki gained some strong results at the Race of
the Year at Mallory Park on Sunday, 15th October with riders Peter
Hickman and Ian Hutchinson. In the autumn conditions the two riders
were eager to finish the year on a high note. After qualifying in
fifth and sixth position, Hickman gained fourth place in the race and
Hutchinson sixth.
Factory teams such as Suzuki and Honda were present at the race with
Suzuki fielding World Superbike star Chris Walker who took the
eventual race win. Hickman was keen to try and gain a podium position
in the 20-lap race and once past TT legend John McGuinness he was
unable to catch third placed man Billy McConnell.
Youngster Peter Hickman commented "We've had a couple of good weekends
and things have gone well. It's been a strong finish to the year for
me and I'd like to thank everyone involved for all their help and
support over the season. I'm already eager to get going for 2007 now
and can't wait to be back out on track. I'll make the most of the time
off preparing for next season and hope that it will be a good one."
Team Owner Stuart Hicken said "It's been a good couple of weeks and
thankfully all the bikes are still in one piece in preparation for the
bike show. It's been a busy season for us with the Superbike races and
the Road Races but we've had some positive results with the new
Kawasaki ZX10 and hope that 2007 can be a positive one for us."
Hawk Kawasaki are now preparing for the NEC Motorcycle Show -
