Shaun Muir Racing Ltd (SMR) was formed in 1999 primarily to provide hospitality to racing teams within the motorcycling fraternity.

The company is headed by Managing Director - Shaun Muir himself a former International Superbike Racer. After finishing his riding career, he formed his own race team and soon realised the shortage of quality hospitality providers. From that point the race team created the SMR company providing their own in house hospitality for its own sponsors.

SMR has developed and established itself as a leading provider for a range of services to the private and corporate event industry. The company now employs over 25 full time employees ranging from head chefs through to on site erection crew.

SMR concentrates its efforts on providing a quality total event structure to a limited number of markets and instead of concentrating on quantity it aims to provide only the highest quality.

In targeting our clients we aim to provide a service of:-

  • Competent qualified staff - Manpower ranging from qualified pedigree chefs to HGV drivers with pride in their presentation.
  • Catering/Hospitality - A catering solution for every need whether it a private banquet at home or a star studded outside event.
  • Logistics - All round turn key facility and one stop shop for event organisation

All of the above culminating in

  • Total event management - SMR producing the complete administration, logistic, staffing, catering and quality for your event.

The SMR Performance Centre

SMR have been the driving force behind the development of the race team. It was decided to expand the SMR Race Team into a dedicated racing and performance centre. Development started in January 2008 at the 2 acre site in Guisborough, the teams HQ for the past 10 years.

The foundations and steel work have been completed and the roof and wall cladding are progressing. The Performance Centre is scheduled to be open to public in January 2009, offering a one stop shop for all road, trackday, and race team support. Engine tuning, dyno work, suspension support and product supply will be the main services available.

As well as the Performance Centre this will also be the offices and workshops for the Hydrex Bike Animal Honda race team. Completion is scheduled for May 2008.
